Frequently asked questions
What is the Ag & Arts Tour?
It is a two-day, self-guided tour of farms through the back roads of Hickman County, Tennessee. Each destination on the map features an agricultural element combined with local artists, crafters, musicians, etc. Activities include farm tours, demonstrations, arts & crafts for sale, as well as seasonal produce, musical performances, and more!
When does the Ag & Arts Tour take place?
The Ag & Arts Tour will take place on the 3rd FRI & SAT of June.
Is the Tour really FREE?
Yes! The Ag & Arts Tour is free to attend—there’s no admission fee to visit any of the tour stops. Just keep in mind that food, drinks, handmade goods, and some special activities may have a cost.
Where do I start the tour?
The tour is completely self-guided, so you can start anywhere you like! Use the Tour Map to explore all the stops and see which artisans will be at each location. Plan your route based on your interests and enjoy the weekend at your own pace.
What if it rains or storms?
The tour takes place rain or shine! Sites may close if there is a threat of severe weather as the safety of our visitors, farmers, and artisans is our #1 priority! The Ag & Arts Team will be updating Facebook throughout the weekend.
Can I bring my dog or other pets on the tour?
We love animals, but we kindly ask that you leave pets at home. Many of our tour stops are working farms, and pets can create food safety concerns or stress for livestock. Of course, service animals are always welcome.
What is the mission of the Ag & Arts Foundation?
We strive to create an open network that connects independently owned, craft-based, and agrarian businesses while promoting them to the public. Ag & Arts is dedicated to fostering community education on the arts, cottage industries, sustainable farming, homesteading, and self-reliance. Through these efforts, we aim to inspire creativity, increase awareness, boost agri-tourism and local commerce in South Central Tennessee, and support the growth of small-scale, sustainable agriculture.
